Job Title: Cookie Counter Customer Service Representative. Part Time - approx 24 hrs a week

Millie’s Mama Bakes is expanding into Southern Pines! We are a scratch bakery located in Sanford, NC and we are seeking a cookie concierge in our new location inside the historic Jefferson Inn in Southern Pines, NC. 

  • Our front of house staff is the face of our business.  We are currently seeking a part-time salesperson to work at our new location in Southern Pines.  This unique location will require someone that is outgoing and comfortable interacting with a variety of people.

  • Hours to start will be Wednesday – Saturday 9 am-3 pm, hours may vary.

About You:

  • You love people.  You are service oriented.  You are willing to travel to Southern Pines daily with our commuter van. 

  • You have the ability to carry up to 20 pounds.

  • You are reliable and prompt.

  • You are energetic and enthusiastic.

  • You are willing to learn and grow.

  • You can think on your feet, problem solve and make decisions on the spot.

  • You preferably have had previous customer service experience in a restaurant or bakery.

  • You are a self-starter and organized.

  • You are comfortable working with a point of sale system independently.

A typical workday:  

  • Day begins at the Sanford MMB location to pick up daily inventory for Southern Pines.

  • Stock the counter at the Jefferson Inn.

  • Consistently deliver amazing service to our guests with every interaction.

  • Clean the small work area prior to leaving, removing trash, sweeping, etc.

  • Return to Sanford at the end of the day.

Job Title: Baking Assistant, Sanford Location

Part time: Approx 15-25 hours a week (more during event seasons and holidays)

The baking assistant at Millie’s Mama Bakes will be responsible for producing baked goods following the recipes precisely.  Using commercial convection ovens to bake all bakery goods, understanding of doneness and baking processes.  In addition, must provide excellent customer service in the storefront.  Must be able to describe cookies and treats, package all baked good correctly and interact in a professional manner with our valued customers.  

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • learn and effectively demonstrate knowledge of recipes and use of commercial baking equipment

  • complete tasks in efficient manner and with precision and high attention to detail

  • comfortable reading recipes and executing various baking tasks such as prepping dough, fronting/decorating cakes and cookies, making from scratch buttercreams, glazes, bars, and more

  • maintaining a clean and organized work environment

  • customer care as needed
